The estate is located in Scansano<\/strong>, in the heart of Maremma<\/strong>, near the Etruscan site of Ghiaccio Forte<\/strong> of the IV Century BC to whose name it is attributed and where the cultivation of vines was a vital resource.<\/p>\n

The property includes 46 hectares<\/strong> divided in four vineyards<\/strong>, as well as pasture and woodland to preserve<\/strong> local biodiversity.<\/strong><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The main grape variety is Sangiovese,<\/span> locally known as Morellino<\/span>, and there is also Carignano<\/span> Nero<\/span>, existing in this area since ancient times<\/span>,<\/p>\n

documented in the land registry of 1929 and now the subject of study for its enhancement by the University of Milano.<\/p>\n

Vermentino<\/span> has also been recently planted.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Clay-limestone soil<\/strong> that provides structure and vigor to the grapes, exposed to the north and northwest, benefits from the breeze<\/strong> coming from the sea.<\/strong> The average altitude is 250 m above sea level, cultivated with Sangiovese and Carignan with an average age of eighteen years. The part dedicated to Vermentino, with plants around 7 years old, is exposed to the south and south-east. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The altitude is 250 m above sea level. The plants are four years old.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
